I’ve read that consuming too few calories when exercising and dieting can disrupt or slow metabolism and winding being counter productive in terms of weight loss. If, then, I know the calories a person my weight, age, and build burns in day to day living, how far below that caloric intake is it both safe and effective for me to target my diet?

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011I’m 5’9" (female) and am currently tyring to get into better shape. I know that I should weight between 125-165 pounds. I’m currently on the higher end. I’ve got an athletic build and am trying to trim while tone but I want to know what I should aim for in terms of weight loss on the follwoing plan.
I’m on a 1200 – 1500 a day calorie limit. I walk my dog 1 hour every day ( twice at 30 minutes). I rollerblade (in-line skate) 45 mins a day and lift upperbody and do core work every other day from 30 mins.
Based on that information, can someone give me an idea what I should expect in terms of weekly weight loss?

I’ve been running on the treadmill for 45 minutes a day five days a week at 5.8-5.8 miles per hour and walking two nights a week at 4.4 miles per hour, If I move down to 30 minutes a day at 5.9 miles per hour five nights a week, would that not be enough to manage my weight loss?
